The Heritage Reservation is committed to the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and participants during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, there have been some changes to our programs and cleaning protocols.
- Masks must be worn at all times when inside a building or when social distancing is difficult with the exception of eating.
- Staff will be routinely cleaning high touch areas in the common spaces and cleaning program equipment before and after each use.
Winter Days at Heritage Reservation are a tremendous opportunity for Cub Scouts and their families to enjoy a fun-filled day in the great outdoors while experiencing the beauty of winter. Programs will be held Saturdays only from approximatley 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If individual families wish to stay the weekend in one of our 7 Potomac Homes, subject availablity, they may do so separately HERE. Meals are not provided.
- Cub Scouts & Siblings - $20.00 until 5 days prior to event, $30.00 after
- Adults - $8.00 until 5 days prior to event, $12.00 after
Total weekend participation is limited to 75 people due to COVID-19. Please do not reserve space for individuals without a firm commitment for their participation. Reserving spaces without a firm commitment may result in spaces being blocked for others who wish to participate. There will be NO REFUNDS for this event due to committments made for staffing and program supplies.
Pre-Event and Check in
We are encouraging each unit to have their participants self monitor for the five days leading up to the event and review the Pre-Event Medical Screening checklist prior to leaving home. At check-in, participants will be screened in the groups that they traveled with. If any participant reads a body temperature of 100.0 or higher, they and the other participants who traveled with them must return home. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
Each Winter Day will include the following programs:
- BB shooting
- Giant slingshots
- Klondike games - Log sawing and branding
- A tracking activity
- Nature hike
Activities are subject to change based on staffing availability, Should there be sufficient snow, some activities may be switched out for sledding and/or snowshoeing. All needed equipment is provided. The camp has sleds and helmets. However, please bring any equipment that you may have (no hockey sticks please). All individuals (youth and adults), per BSA safety policies, must wear a helmet to sled.

Lunch is not included. All participants must bring a lunch
This decisionw as made to help lower costs for families and to help avoid bringing the group together for an meal where COVID could spread.
ITEMS TO BRING
We suggest that you bring the necessities to be outside for the day; sweaters, warm jackets, extra clothes, boots, etc. Dress for the weather. Be prepared to be outside, to get wet, and to get muddy.
Please bring a lunch! Meals will NOT be available for this event.
HERITAGE RESERVATION ADDRESS
The main address for Heritage Reservation is 300 Heritage Road, Farmington, AP 15437. Some GPS units, however, will try to bring people in through a locked gate on the back side of the property. If your directions try to have you enter Heritage Reservation off Braddock Rd. DO NOT use them. The entrance to Heritage Reservation is off Dinner Bell-Five Forks Rd. The alternate address for Heritage Reservation is 2690 Dinner Bell-Five Forks Rd., Farmington, PA 15437
