Scouts BSA & Venturing Ski Weekend

Join other Scouts BSA and Venturers at Heritage Reservation for a weekend of fun and relaxation January 10-12, 2020!  Head over to Nemacolin’s Mystic Mountain ski area for the day Saturday or kick back and play a game or watch a movie. It’s up to you. 



  • $60 per person if paid in full by December 22, 2019
  • $75 per person if paid after December 22, 2019

There will be a $15 per person deposit due at the time of booking which is non-refundable, non-transferable, and can not be used toward any group balance owed.

The weekend fee includes lodging Friday and Saturday night, Friday evening snack, breakfast, dinner, and snack Saturday, and breakfast Sunday. Lunch Saturday may be purchased for $6.00.

The Scouts BSA and Venturing Ski Weekend is all about fun!   There will not be a planned program for the weekend.  Participants may spend the day relaxing in Pathfinder Lodge, play games in the Pathfinder game room, watch movies, or explore Heritage Reservation for some wintertime fun.

On Saturday, many participants choose to head over to Nemacolin Resort's Mystic Mountain ski area to participate in the Scout Ski/Snowboard Day which will be taking place. Nemacolin Ski/Snowboard Day tickets must be purchased separately by following the link below. Participants must wear an approved winter sports helmet. A limited supply of helmets is available.  If participants have their own winter sports helmet, please encourage them to bring them along.

Nemacolin Ski/Snowboard Day Rates

  • Lift Ticket - $20.00 per person
  • Tubing Ticket (2 hr session) - $20.00 per person
    • 42" height minimum
  • Ski/Snowboard Rentals - $20.00 per person


Scouts BSA and Venturing Ski Weekend check-in begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Pathfinder Lodge. Weekend staff will be on-site to direct you to where you are staying and Pathfinder Lodge to check-in. 


Please ensure that each participant (youth AND adult) brings a completed Annual Health and Medical Form parts A & B to check-in. If you have questions about the medical form, please see our Information and FAQ page. Medical forms will be collected and secured for the weekend. At the end of the weekend, participants can pick up their forms. Any forms not picked up will be destroyed.

All adults spending the night at camp must attach a copy of their completed, current BSA Youth Protection 2.0 Training and required PA background clearances to their medical forms to be turned in during check-inFailure to provide those documents with your Health and Medical form will result in dismissal from the property. No refunds will be given for those individuals who are asked to leave for non-compliance.


Participants will stay in the Potomac Homes at Heritage Reservation’s Eagle Base Conference Center. Each heated home includes bunk beds with mattresses, bathrooms, and showers. A clothes washer and dryer can be found on the lower level of each house to wash or dry muddy or wet clothing. Heritage’ Reservation’s Potomac Homes hold up to 20 people and are arranged as follows:

  • Downstairs Open Room – Holds 12 people
  • Upstairs Semi-Private Room 1 – Holds 4 - 5 people
  • Upstairs Semi-Private Room 2 – Holds 2 - 3 people
  • Upstairs Room 3 – Holds 2 people

Troops and Crews will be assigned to houses by Ski Weekend Staff.  Individual room assignments will be up to unit leadership following BSA youth protection guidelines and lodging/cabin accommodation guidelines found in the Guide to Safe Scouting (

Important Housing Information 

Although there are additional Scout Ski & Snowboard Weekends available through Nemacolin Resort's Mystic Mountain.  This is the only weekend housing is guaranteed at Heritage Reservation.  Other Scout Ski & Snowboard Weekends overlap with Heritage's popular Cub Scout Winter Weekends which use all available housing.
