Property Update: Camp Twin Echo

Monday, December 9, 2019

Pittsburgh, PA (December 9, 2019) -- The Board of Directors of the Laurel Highland Council met on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, to discuss the 2020 Council operating budget.  The Board determined that based upon operational deficits and reduced usage of Camp Twin Echo, the Council could no longer continue to operate the camp and decided:

  • All reservations for use of Camp Twin Echo through June 30, 2020, will be confirmed as scheduled.
  • Any reservation seeking use of Camp Twin Echo after June 30, 2020 will not be accepted at this time.
  • Camp Twin Echo will no longer have a full-time ranger and we will rely on staff and volunteers to open the camp for reservations.

The Council has received inquiries from outside interests about purchasing the property.  The Board is currently evaluating these inquiries.
